Q. What’s included in the rent?
A. Your rent is all inclusive of utility bills, including electricity and water (capped at £350).
Q. Does the building have lifts?
A. Yes, there are four.
Q. Is the accommodation aimed mainly at fresher's?
A. No, it is open to all students.
Q. Is Studios 51 on campus?
A. Not quite. Studios 51 is situated in a central location right next to Aston University campus, so within excellent walking distance of Birmingham’s cosmopolitan city centre.
Q. Can I share a studio apartment?
A. Yes. The apartments are for one or two people to share.
What happens if there is a problem with the heating or other services?
We’ll deal with it for you. Just contact the on-site accommodation team and a member of the on-site maintenance team will sort it out as soon as possible.
Q. How is rent paid and how often?
A. We collect your rent by direct debit four times a year – on 1 August 2009, 1 October 2009, 10 January 2010 and 4 April 2010. This allows you to avoid paying one big lump sum and also coincides with your student loan payments.
Q. Is broadband access available?
A. Broadband Internet is available as an optional extra service and will be provided by www.ask4.com.
Q. Do I need to pay a deposit?
A. Yes. We ask for a deposit of £350* to be paid when you book your accommodation. * The deposit is refundable, subject to a satisfactory inspection at the end of your tenancy.
Q. How do I book a room?
A. You can book on-line right away, just complete the online accommodation bookings form and our accommodation team will get right back to you with all the necessary information to help you secure your accommodation.
Q. Is there any car parking?
A. There is no parking on site at all, there is on road pay and display spaces, which are free in the evening after 6 and on a Sunday.
Q. What are the room sizes?
A. The rooms sizes are all individual as it is a converted building, each room is unique, the floor space ranges from 18.5sqm - 36.0sqm, so it depends upon which studio you choose.
Q. What additional facilities are there onsite?
A. The will be a courtyard area for residents to relax in and there is an onsite laundry.
Q. What fittings are included in the studios?
A. Each studio is fitted with a double bed, with under bed storage, a double wardrobe, a large desk area with drawers, and a smart two seater sofa. The kitchen area has a combination microwave, two ring hob, extractor fan, fridge with freezer compartment, storage space, and a breakfast bar and two stools. Also an ensuite bathroom. All you could want and more. Each room has high ceilings and large windows.
