Firstly, welcome back! We hope that you all had a nice, relaxing Easter break!
Privilege Cards 10/11
As the new academic year is getting closer we will be updating the Privilege cards with new and exciting offers. Suggestions are welcome.
The Accommodation Team
As you may not have met all members of the accommodation team, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We have a new administrator. Richard will be working in the office Monday – Friday and is more than happy to help and assistant you with any questions and enquiries you may have. Sam is the Facilities Technician on site and is responsible for fixing any maintenance issues you may have.
We then have our Resident Coordinators. Charlotte, Penelope and Emily who are Students like yourselves who play an active role in the accommodation team. They are on call throughout the evening and during weekends and they will be able to help you resolve any issues or problems you may have no matter how big or small.
Reminder – Office Opening hours
Mon-Fri 10am till 5pm and 5.30pm till 7.30pm. We close the office at Lunchtime 2 - 3 so we can all grab a bite to eat and catch up on some paperwork!
Upcoming events
We would appreciate any suggestions that you may have, however we are planning a Summer BBQ now the nice weather has arrived! It will be a good opportunity to get away from all your work, especially during this stressful time!

Welcome to the March Newsletter for Studios 51
Social Events
As Easter is creeping up on the final year students and we are all looking towards the last few deadlines and exams, Studios 51 is looking how to start the summer holidays. If you are daydreaming about what you are going to do after exams, share with us some of your ideas- we want to arrange something that you all will enjoy, so get involved!
Pop into the accommodation office to let us know or post you idea in our post box on the wall outside the accommodation office. We look forward to receiving all your ideas and we will let you know who has the best ideas – get your thinking caps on!!
Watch this space, during Easter the accommodation team will be selling raffle tickets for the Easter Raffle, prizes to be confirmed!
Competition
If you are passing the accommodation office, check out the details of our media competition! We are looking for a photo portfolio and video tour for the new image of Mainstay Student. The prize is £100! Mainstay will use the material in advertising on their website, facebook and twitter, and your name could be on it! Closing date is Monday 22 March.
Health & Safety
We ask that all residents be aware of the noise they are making. We are receiving several noise complaints a week at the moment; be aware that people use their rooms for individual study and our residents are at different stages of their courses. Please be considerate of your neighbours and room mates within the building.
Can you also help us keep the courtyard looking tidy by putting your rubbish in the bins- try and fill them up from the back as there is plenty of room which doesn’t always get used.

Where will you be living next year? We have a number of apartments available if you would still like to rebook a studio. Pop into the accommodation office or call 0121 333 5792 to discuss the special offers we have available for re-bookers. Be sure to secure an apartment in Birmingham’s favourite student accommodation and relax knowing you have one less hassle to worry about

We asked a few months ago that you register your bicycles at the office along with a photo. This is so that we can keep the facility for securing bikes available to current tenants and the courtyard looking good.
Please do report any maintenance issues to the office without delay as we always try and rectify them as soon as possible, in some cases we are waiting for parts from our suppliers. If you do not fill in a form we can’t get the message passed on to the maintenance team efficiently.
Just to remind you, as the Accommodation office is not open all day every day we have introduced an internal postal system. Please use the forms in the literature holder and a post box outside the accommodation office to communicate everything from maintenance issues to application interests with us.
To keep you updated with our Green Theme here at Studios FiftyOne we are taking monthly meter readings for your apartment to help make sure you don’t go over your limit.

We have almost a whole new team of Residential co-ordinators working in the evenings in the office, and we are still looking for one more! If you think you’re up to a couple of hours office work in the evening and want to help out with your fellow residents (and future residents) questions and queries, please pop by or drop us an email to apply.

Should you receive any information underneath your door, please bring the flyer down to the accommodation office and we shall take the appropriate action to stop this happening again.

We have also recently seen an increase in the number of rubbish bags dumped within the communal areas and would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents to use the refuse store provided within the courtyard area. any tenants found to be dumping rubbish will be charged accordingly.
