Out and about
Bristol is an all around great place to study, live and enjoy life.
With a wealth of history and being the burial ground for King Arthur mixing with the modern sights and sounds of attractions such as the waterfront, Bristol is fast becoming the only place to study.
It holds various festivals and exhibitions throughout the year from live music and comedy events to alfresco dining in the city thorough out the summer months.
Relaxing in one of the many beautiful parks and gardens in the city, or taking to Brandon Hill and climbing the 105 foot Cabot tower for the views over the city is a must for any over worked / over partied students in need of respite.
Nightlife
Bristol has an outstanding clubbing scene and regularly attracts top name DJs and acts. Bristol's main nightlife areas are around the harbor side, along Whiteladies Road and Park Street and Corn Street and the Old City.
The city’s lively 24/7 atmosphere and wealth of bars make it easy to party party party.
Some of the city’s best known hangouts include The Elbow Room on Park Street and Walkabout, an Australian-themed bar/club in Corn Street. Oceana on the harbor side features 5 bars and 2 clubs all under one roof, it’s a must for anyone in the city.
Bristol is also known for its live music scene spanning many different tastes, with Colstan Hall being the number one venue to hear all your favourite bands.
Entertainment
Bristol is crammed with alternative events for when you are all partied out.
If your adventure side is taking over and you would like to try your luck at being a daredevil then rock climbing at The Avon Gorges awaits, followed by a rally laps at Castle Combe, its enough to make any adrenaline junkies day.
Fancy being up close and personal with more than 300 species including gorillas, insects, reptiles and penguins then Bristol Zoo is for you.
If you think you could be the next Jane Torvell, Bristols premier ice rink is the pace to be, as a part of the John Nike Leisure sports facilities you are able to take to the ice in a series of ice karting sessions along with many free skating sessions throughout the week to show off you skating skills.
If you fancy a more chilled day, you can cruise around the harbour on board a luxury yacht, or take a stroll round one of the regularly held street markets selling everything you could ever wish for.
Or if even those are too strenuous catch a film at the Odeon Cinema, a stones throw away from Studios 58.
Shopping
Shopping is everywhere in Bristol from the small boutiques to high street stores being on every corner you turn. There is Broadmead shopping centre, in the heart of the city, and The Malls at Cribbs Causeway where everything you will ever need is all under one roof through to the chic boutiques and designer names hidden down side streets, and where the best kept bargains can be found. There’s no chance of you ever coming home empty handed, as there is something for everyone in Bristol.
Getting around
Studios58 is within easier walking distance of many attractions and the university. But if you fancy a trip further afield, Bristol boasts numerous train stations that can transport you all over the country, along with an international airport to carry you all over the world.
Situated on the edge of an estuary Bristol has easy access to the open seas, there are boats running daily from the harbour side to a variety of destinations ( Weather and tide permitting of course).
