Q. What’s included in the rent?
A. Your rent is all inclusive of utility bills (capped at £300 or £350 for Studios), electricity and water, as well as site management and security. In addition, each apartment will have a 32” LCD TV a free TV licence for lounge areas and studios, Freeview and Sky Sports channels, Leather Furniture, Free Broadband Internet and Free contents insurance.
Q. Does the building have lifts?
A. Yes, there are lifts within each separate block.
Q. Is the accommodation aimed mainly at freshers?
A. No, it is open to all students.
Q. Is Waterways on campus?
A. Waterways is located in the town centre,the campus is about a mile away.
Q. Are the bedrooms en-suite?
A. Yes, all of them.
Q. Can I share an apartment with my friends?
A. Yes. We have 3, 5 and 6 bed apartments.
Q. What if I like living at Waterways so much I want to re-book for next year?
A. That's not a problem – many of our residents are returning students who just don’t want to leave! We can’t prioritise when we’re handing out rooms though, so apply as early as you can to improve your chances.
Q. What happens if there’s a problem with the heating or other services?
A. We’ll deal with it for you. Just contact the on-site accommodation team and a member of the on-site maintenance team will sort it out as soon as possible.
Q. Is broadband access available?
A. Broadband Internet is available. All you need to do is register when you move in.
Q. How is rent paid and how often?
A. We collect your rent by direct debit four times a year – on 1 August 2009, 1 October 2009, 10 January 2010 and 4 April 2010. This allows you to avoid paying one big lump sum and also coincides with your student loan payments.
Q. Do I need to pay a deposit?
A. Yes. We ask for a deposit of £150* to be paid when you book your accommodation. * The deposit is refundable, subject to a satisfactory inspection at the end of your tenancy.
